How We’re Helping from Home (and You Can, Too!)
As we begin another week under nationwide Stay at Home orders, the Diace Designs team is finding ways to remotely connect with our community. Supporting local businesses and nonprofits has always been one of our top priorities. Now, we’re learning how to help our friends and colleagues from afar.
Fun at Home
At the end of 2019, Diace Designs began working with The Arc Tampa Bay, a local affiliate of a national organization that serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We designed a line of graphic t-shirts and an accompanying brand to help the nonprofit fundraise. The project was a huge success! Since then, we’ve continued to help The Arc Tampa Bay expand its t-shirt line. When our local community began feeling the effects of the pandemic and the resulting social distancing measures, we knew that The Arc Tampa Bay would need extra support. So we looked for a way to help. Conveniently, the organization released an Amazon wishlist in response to the outbreak. This list benefits the residents of their group homes. From the games and activities requested, we selected t-shirts and tie-dye so that the residents could spend an afternoon creating their very own tie-dyed shirts. It was an excellent way for them to pass the time and also express their creativity from the safety of their homes!

Family Meals
In the past few weeks, we’ve also been able to support a similar organization in Orlando. Primrose Center, like The Arc Tampa Bay, serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We were recently selected to lead the organization’s upcoming name change and rebrand. As Primrose Center’s new creative partner, the Diace Designs team felt compelled to assist the nonprofit however we could. When they asked the community to sponsor meals for their group home residents, we jumped on the opportunity. We coordinated with a local Macaroni Grill to arrange buffet-style meals for all six of Primrose Center’s group homes. Residents and staff enjoyed the food (and the leftovers!), and we were delighted to provide a nourishing meal for all.

Industry Support
In addition to making in-kind donations to local nonprofits, we’ve also had the opportunity to help our fellow business owners in the KNOW Tampa tribe and throughout Tampa Bay. We’ve provided free marketing information and virtual consultations to help businesses reimagine their services in this new social and economic environment. From offering no-contact versions of standard services like product photography to promoting family-style meal offerings at restaurants, there are many different ways to adapt to this “new normal.” You just have to be open to new opportunities!
Change is never easy, but survival and even success are still possible. If you would like to discuss creative solutions for getting your business through this difficult time, contact us. And if you have the ability to help others, please do so. The world needs kindness and community now more than ever.
